Egg balancing dates back to an ancient Chinese tradition. It was believed that on the equinox, when daylight and nighttime are in balance, you can balance an egg on its broad end. While the theory was disproven in 1947, I see no reason not to practice the tradition and acknowledge the changing of the season.
